For admins

People and invite links

People are who sign in to Linx: to make calls, or to help run it.

People

Adding someone

+ Add, then:

  • Quick add: just a name and email. Change the rest later.
  • Guide me: a few short steps, each explained.

Choose the type:

  • Person: someone who signs in to make and take calls. Gets an invite link.
  • Admin: a person who can also manage Linx (people, extensions, phone lines). Adding one asks you to confirm it’s you.
  • Phone: an extension for a phone that isn’t someone’s, like a door phone or a meeting room. No email.

Linx gives them the next free number in the people range.

After Create, Linx shows an invite link and a QR code. It works once, for 24 hours. You won’t see it again, so send it now (Copy link), then I’ve saved it. Lost it? Open the person and choose New invite link.

Once email is set up (Email), Linx can send the link for you: Email this link to is ticked when you add someone or make a new link. Afterwards Linx says Emailed to their address, or why it couldn’t, and you can still copy the link. Until email is set up, the box is greyed with Set up email first.

What they do with it: Your invite or set-password link.

Changing someone

Open the person to change their Name, Email, Role or extension.

Someone with an extension also has a Voicemail line: whether it’s on, how many messages they have and whether they’re emailed. Turn off stops callers leaving them messages (callers hear “not available”). See Voicemail.

Danger zone

  • Reset authenticator: when they lost their phone and recovery codes (Lost your authenticator or passkey). It signs them out everywhere.
  • Unlock: ends a wait after too many wrong passwords (Locked out).
  • Disable: they’ll be signed out everywhere and their browser phone stops working.

An admin can’t change a system admin: only a system admin can.
